At FPT Software, I primarily worked with GE as the main client, along with internal projects in the digital factory domain. During my time here, I underscored the importance of design in the software development process and addressed the most complex user contexts. I successfully built a design team from the ground up, making significant contributions to core projects.

Timeline
March 2023 - Present
I successfully proved the critical role of design in the software development and tackled the most intertwined contexts of use with good design
- With GE Vernova, I joined when their digital solutions were fully functional but lacked design considerations. These solutions were developed to support their wind turbine manufacturing process, and while they worked technically, there was significant room for improvement in usability. Therefore, I proposed strategies to enhance the UX of these applications.
- To understand the context of use and gather real-world insights, I visited their factories in Salzbergen (Germany) and Saint-Nazaire (France), conducted usability testing with actual users, and elicit requirements from stakeholders.
- Based on collected findings, I redesigned the applications with an escalated UX and gained high customer satisfaction.
- Since then, design has become a crucial part of developing every new module and application, helping to clarify requirements and reduce iterations and maintenance efforts for the development team.
I built a design team from the ground up, provided training and support for team members and delivered impactful design for various digital solutions
- I recruited 3 members into the team. I didn’t select the designers having several years of experience but ones with NO design background as I saw the potentials in them, and due to the fact that the digital factory domain has nothing to do with graphical elements, but more about solving complex requirements, I prioritised those with better analytical skills than those who pursue aesthetics in design, despite much more effort required for training and support. But only after several months of dedicated mentorship, they not only adapted to the design tools and processes but also successfully attained core projects of the business unit with complex requirements.
- I oversaw the execution of design projects, managing timelines, resources, and review design to ensure quality of design deliveries
- I led brainstorming sessions with team members, guided and facilitated team to solve design topics together
- I guided the design team to develop and use the design system in every design projects, ensuring consistent designs, no matter how many projects we work and how many designers we have.
Hosted UX workshop with 60+ audiences
- With the goal to integrate UX design into the business unit, I hosted a workshop titled “UX Design – Designing Products with Users in Mind”. In the workshop, I shared essential UX design knowledge, the design process, and my experiences from real projects, helping participants understand the full UX design cycle in renowned organizations.
After a year I joined, the business unit of 100+ members transformed from a no-design approach filled with flaws and post-launch issues to design-being-a-must for any new feature or project.
